Here you can see the participation of A Sweet Route—the Giant Paleta—at San Francisco Carnaval 2026, featuring a live interview with Adrian Arias on CBS, broadcasting directly from Carnaval SF in the Mission District.

As Sara said in her introduction in this video, “we are seeing art in motion.”
This was the beginning of A Sweet Route—a tribute to paleteros, and to immigrant workers everywhere—honoring their daily effort and the joy they bring to our communities.
This Giant Paleta was the first object created as part of a temporary monument to paleteros. It was first installed at Parque Niños Unidos and is now at Potrero del Sol Park in San Francisco.
