Adrián Arias’s Fire Hummingbird, selected as an Honoraria Project for Burning Man 2025, was inspired by ancestral traditions and the Día de los Muertos. Shaped as a pyramid with a luminous hummingbird on top, it created an intimate gathering space where people came together to sing, share stories, and connect with ancestors and loved ones who are no longer with us, physically or emotionally.

I do what I do because art is my way of listening to the ancestors, to the earth, and to the future at the same time. At Black Rock City, this dialogue becomes visible: wood, fire, sound, light, and people all joining in one moment. That is why I create — to open portals where we can remember who we are and imagine who we can still become.
